Healing and healthy weeds on the dachas

Many of the weeds that grow in abundance on our plots have a number of useful properties that gardeners and gardeners could forget about. Let's remember together the healers of our gardens.

Country ownership is a territory where a lot of meadow grasses grow. Not all of them belong to the weedy and useless, subject to "destruction" or regular mowing. Stems with leaves and roots with flowers of many such plants are actively used in traditional medicine. It follows that some of the plants can be very useful in exacerbating various ailments and replace the pharmacy tablets that are not always useful for the body.

Let's not grab the braid to say goodbye to the lush and colorful top of the green cover in the garden for a long time! Let's first take a look at the pictures of useful herbs, read about their healing properties and only then determine their fate!

Mokritsa (Starlet medium)

Which of the dacha owners didn’t drive into a frenzy of weeding a vegetable garden, greenhouse or garden from a low plant with small white flowers called wood louse?

All gardeners faced a huge green and soft "carpet" of woodlice, which tore it with armfuls or destroyed it with the help of chopper. There is no such gardener who, after weeding large areas from the middle spur, would not grab the lower back or the pain in the joints would not start!

The healing properties of woodlouse

With the help of compresses from this plant in steamed form, people have been treating and sometimes rheumatism, sciatica and sprains are being treated now. A decoction of star sponge serves as an excellent painkiller for aching joints and rheumatism, as well as for washing purulent wounds and injuries.

The method of cooking decoction of woodlice is very simple: 1 tbsp. Herbs pour 200 g of boiling water. Close the container, wrap it in a warm cloth and leave to infuse overnight. In the morning, strain the infusion and take ¼ cup 4 times a day or use as an ointment.

Boiled woodlouse replaces spinach in a side dish with meat and potato dishes. It is also used in soups as a green seasoning.

In Georgia, as they say, wood lice make cutlets

In this medicine, many miraculous means have been attributed to this plant, not all of which have been tested and confirmed by modern doctors. Therefore, when starting to produce juice or broth, which is subsequently taken orally, you need to be 100% sure that a home-made drug will not cause any allergic reaction in the body.

Neither adults nor children love casual contact with stinging nettles. And it usually occurs when weeding the beds or picking garden raspberries with blackberries, among the bushes that the tall stems of this plant freely feel.

The stinging nettle, an annual plant that blooms from June to late autumn, pollutes the soil with its seeds. It appears abruptly in our gardens and gardens, near fences, separating the summer cottages. Fighting nettles can stretch out for the entire summer season.

But the plant is not so useless. You can feed poultry with its seeds, cook soup from young leaves, or eat spinach instead. Nettle, containing vitamins A, B1 and B2, starch with protein, iron and carotene, magnesium and copper, has an excellent strengthening effect on the entire body and improves metabolism.

The healing properties of nettle stinging

Sometimes in the villages you can see elderly people who whip themselves in different parts of the body with nettle brooms. In such an unusual way, old people relieve themselves of sharp pains in the lumbar region and joints. A similar treatment method was used in Russian baths in the past centuries: first they steamed the bones, and then they whipped themselves with nettles.

In folk medicine, a decoction of burning nettle is used for frequent constipation and stomach cramps, for anemia, allergies and atherosclerosis. Acceptance of nettle infusions stops internal bleeding, improves the functioning of the urinary system and increases appetite.

Among the variety of field grasses in country gardens not the last place is occupied by two types of plantain - large and medium. Thanks to popular observations, every person knows about the healing properties of these leaves from childhood.

The medicinal plant grows along the sides of country roads, on moderately wet meadows and fields, as well as near housing. Hence the name. In the old days, when medical patches were not even in sight, all travelers applied plantain leaves to wounds and boils on their legs.

Medicinal properties of plantain

The good fame of the roadside plant has reached our days. Having easily wounded during the garden work, we immediately begin to look for familiar leaves, quickly stopping the bleeding and endowed with nature disinfectant properties.

The pharmaceutical industry is actively using raw materials from plantain to produce Plantoglucid, relieving cramps, and juice from fresh leaves, which can cure more than 20 different diseases. Extracts, tinctures and decoctions against cough, pulmonary tuberculosis, bronchitis, as well as from gastric diseases caused by low acidity are made from the plant.

At home, guided by the manufacture of recipes for healers, people make water decoction of large and medium plantain plants. It is taken in many diseases of the stomach: diarrhea, ulcers, gastritis, kidney disease.

Plantain water is taken from people with heart disease, especially with high blood pressure, toothache and a strong cough, as the plant perfectly removes sputum from the body.

Juice from the leaves of plantain can be washed with boils, boils and acne.

Leaves for homemade infusions should be collected during flowering plants: in June - July. First you need to tear off the stalks, and then dry them in the shade. Dried leaves do not lose their healing properties for two years. It is recommended to store them in boxes or linen bags, not forgetting to specify the date of collection.

For each disease there is a separate recipe for decoction. But the principle of preparation of all drugs is the same: dry or fresh leaves are poured with water, then boiled over the fire and left for several hours in a dark container for infusion. Then filtered through cheesecloth and taken orally in different dosages.

That is why the medicinal plantain should not be treated as weed grass. Having spotted it on the plot, it is better to stock up on leaves and seeds for a "rainy day" in order to prepare a healing decoction against an unexpected illness at the right moment.
